Appreciation Matters

When we look at life and value it on the basis of what we want to achieve, there is very little time to appreciate the moments and things that we have in the present time.  There always seems to be something that is not good enough in our life, some way in which to improve it. In some cases this might be a good thing however, people get bored of things in life and do forget to value and appreciate the things that they originally chose. There is always something better, something more interesting, which tends to put the original choices to the wayside.

Whatever else each of us derives from our work, there may be nothing more precious than the feeling that we truly matter — that we contribute unique value to the whole, and that we’re recognized for it. Feeling genuinely appreciated lifts people up. There are practical steps you can take, especially as a manager, to use appreciation in the aspect of building a higher-performing and more sustainable team.

Do not wait until tomorrow to realize that many things that you already have in your life are special.
